Now open in the historic Hilton Village area of Newport News, The Magickal Attic LLC serves the Pagan, Neopagan, Wiccan, and Witchcraft communities on the Peninsula by supplying most any and all of your magickal needs.

We have an ever-expanding inventory,  including herbs, incense, essential oils, and resins, as well as Craft Tools and jewelry.  We also carry books, Tarot Cards, and pendulums.  We hope in the near future to pride ourselves with the largest crystal and mineral selection in the Hampton Roads area.  Finally - a place on the Peninsula!

As always, we are here to serve YOU; so if there's something you'd like to see in the store, we can have it here within 10-14 business days.  We rely on our customers to help us fill in the blanks in our inventory, and gladly invite your feedback!

*It has been brought to our attention that there may be some confusion about the origins of The Magickal Attic LLC, its purpose, and its relationship to other stores in the Tidewater area who exist to serve the Pagan community.  

Quite simply, The Magickal Attic LLC is in no way associated with any of the other stores in the area and we pride ourselves in the different nature of our store compared to the other stores. The name of the store is actually a take -off on the term “Magic Addict” mentioned in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. We opened our doors in the historic Hilton Village area of Newport News in February of 2010. There has never been any other location for the Magickal Attic LLC. 

Owner and Proprietor Melissa Kepley is a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a B.S. in Comparative Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies. She hold a Doctorate of Divinity in Esoteric Christian Studies, and is an ordained Interfaith minister licensed in the state of Virginia.  She has worked professionally in the animal care industry for nearly 20 years. She is a Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapist and former owner of Transformations Hypnosis and Healing Center LLC. She has studied privately with High Priestess Laurie Cabot of Salem Massachusetts and proudly holds the title of Second Degree in the Cabot Kent Hermetic Tradition, which approaches Witchcraft as a Science.

It was through her stay in Salem that she became aware of the different outlook of the Pagan community in her home town of Newport News as compared to Salem. It is this difference that makes the Magickal Attic LLC stand on its own as a supplier for those interested in practicing the Magick of Witchcraft. We exist for no other purpose. As Melissa's tradition's practices are so very different than others she knows of in the area, there are currently no plans for starting any community-based circles or Sabat celebrations.  Nor does she participate on a regular basis with any other community Sabats or gatherings, and she never has.

We do not offer Reiki, Massage, Shamanic Healing, or some of the other ‘New Age’ services provided by others in the area. Our prime focus is retail, but we do offer readings, past life regression, and animal communication by appointment. The store carries our own custom blend of oils and incense which carries the Magickal Attic name. As a self described ‘rock hound’, Melissa carries raw crystals and minerals, as well as some beautiful custom jewelry pieces. We are even beginning to see the arrival of some of our pet supply inventory that was personally approved by our resident experts, Pixie and Angie (two of the most precious animal companions anyone could ask for!).

Our location in Newport News places us well away from the stores located 25+ miles (and a crowded bridge-tunnel!) away from our location. We seek to serve a different yet complimentary portion of the community while existing peacefully with the other stores.

And that’s all there is to it…absolutely nothing mystical about it.
